Freedom Matters


HOW TO BE HAPPY:


(1) TRY TO BE YOUR BEST SELF AT ALL TIMES:
- Try to live your life the best you can.
- If happiness is in the mind then nothing external is required to get a good life.


(2) ACCEPT WHATEVER HAPPENS:
- Focus on what we can control and accept whatever we cannot.
- Only two things we can control are our voluntary actions and our judgements.
- Worrying about things we have no direct control over causes emotional suffering.
- In order to properly live, we must learn to accept death as a natural process of life.
- We can't change what already is, but we can choose what we do under the circumstances.
- We are more often frightened than hurt; and we suffer more in imagination than in reality.


(3) TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS:
- Use your freedom of choice to decide how you react to situations.
- You can decide to be a victim to your circumstances and get pushed around. Or you can take responsibility over how you handle the circumstances.
- Don't let yourself get pushed around by an outside events that you don't control and can't change. Don't get upset about it. Just learn to accept certain things that you have no control over.
- Usually stimulus then response. The response can happen unconsciously and automatically and is usually not aligned with being our best self. What you want to do is, Stimulus then think and then respond. You can decide for yourself how you react to the situation. Think first and then react.
- Avoid rash, impulsive, and automatic behavior. If you think before you react, then you can take charge of the situation and how you should react to it.
- We are responsible for our own unhappiness as well as our happiness.


(4) BE MINDFUL OF YOUR ANGER:
- Anger - An intense emotional state involving a strong uncomfortable and hostile response to a perceived provocation, hurt, or threat.
- Be mindful of your own anger triggers so that you will be able to catch them and neutralize them.
- We shouldn't control anger, but destroy it entirely.


(5) KNOW WHERE YOUR GOING:
- Design your own future.
- Find purpose and meaning in life for yourself.
- What are your life goals. You can't achieve them if you do not know what they are.
- The greatest gift of being a human is that you can choose for yourself how you live your life.
- Know who you are, what you want, and how you can achieve your goals. Create a road map for your life.
- A happy life requires a path and you can't follow a path if you don't know where your going or what your end goal is.


(6) DON'T FOLLOW THE CROWD:
- You need to be yourself.
- Happiness comes from within and being different is not a bad thing.
- Be unique, be innovative, be yourself, and focus on what you do best.
- If one wants to live a happy life, then you should limit your association with the crowd.
- By following the crowd, your limiting your potential for growth. You just end up doing what everyone else is doing.


(7) ADMIT MONEY INTO YOUR HOME, NOT YOUR HEART:
- Money is only a tool to get what we want and need.
- Make sure you own your own wealth and it doesn't own you.
- You don't need luxury. Chasing luxury requires constant and difficult effort.


(8) LIVE IN THE PRESENT:
- Look at everyday as a gift.
- Don't live your life in the past or for the future. Live your life in the present.
- You can't change the past. You can't control the future. But you can control what you do today.


(9) GIVE WITHOUT EXPECTATIONS:
- Give only if you want to.
- Give only if it will make you happy.
- If your doing good, the satisfaction of helping is the payment.


(10) ALWAYS BE YOUTHFUL:
- Keep your mind agile.
- Keep your body active.
- Stay socially active.
