Police Officer killed my Brother Joseph Hutcheson

REVIEW OF INCIDENT:

So after doing a little research. It seems the victim who died entered the lobby of a police station with a really bad cough looking for help. Police said that he was acting erratically and may be a threat and decided to handcuff him. Police felt that the victim may be a threat to himself or others and only wanted to handcuff him till he calmed down for his own safety.

Witnesses stated they the victim kept on repeating that he could not breath when the cop had his knee on his throat. Once the victim was dead he was calmed down permanently, police then removed the handcuffs. It is ironic that they handcuffed him partly for his own safety so he would not hurt himself and in the process they killed him.

I was watching something on TV about the Hell's Angels motorcycle gang. The Hell's Angel guy said that if one of our gang members assaults someone we all jump in. It does not matter who started it or why. This common gang mentality.

As you can see from this video. There are three officers standing at the other end and one officer walks away from the group and walks over to the victim and attacks him. The two other officers see this and run over and help the officer assault the victim. This is typical gang mentality.

The real disturbing thing about this video is that the victim is killed after he is handcuffed with his hands behind his back. They handcuff him and he try's to roll over on his back from his stomach and that is when they crush his throat till he is dead. He is no danger to no one at this point. There are already two officers sitting on him and his hands are handcuffed behind his back. Then the third finishes him off.

Witnesses stated that the whole time they were doing this the victim kept saying I can not breath. But they kept up the pressure on his neck till he was dead. So after two weeks and a lot of complaining from the victims family and attorney the police turn over this video to the family and discipline one the officers by sending him home on paid leave. It is unknown at this time if anything else is going to happen.

Imagine if this situation were reversed. One guy sees a officer and feels he may be a danger to himself or others and decides to attack the officer. His two friends see him attacking the officer and they also jump the officer and after they handcuff the officers hands behind his back. They apply pressure with there knee to his throat, ignoring his pleas that he can not breath, till he is dead. If this happened all three would be arrested immediately and charged with murder or manslaughter.

There seems to be a double standard for politicians or there enforcers who break the law and regular civilians. It should never be OK for someone from the government to do something that would be a crime if a individual did the same thing. People who work for the government should be held to a higher standard then regular people, not a lower standard. No one should be above the law and the law should be equally enforced.

The original definition of crime was an act harmful to another person.

IN CLOSING:

All people are created equal and have certain individual rights which are the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We can do as we please within our rights, as long as we do not violate the rights of others. No one has the right to harm you, steal from you, threaten you, or violate your rights. All interactions between people should be voluntary.

To help secure our individual rights, governments may be created, deriving their powers from the consent of the governed. Whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter it, abolish it, or withdraw there consent to be governed.

We own ourselves. No one can claim even partial ownership over you without violating your rights. Self-ownership means not only that you own yourself, but everyone owns themselves. The best way to ensure respect for our self-ownership is to respect the rights of others. Without self-ownership, there is no freedom.
