Theft is theft, no matter who does it

DADDY BEEN A BAD GIRL:

"Daddy been a bad girl." After hearing that Tracy Tickle owner of Daddys Diner stops wiping down the counter, turns around and see's two men standing in her restaurant. She did not recognize these men but they seemed to know her nick name was Daddy. Daddy was surprised to see these two strangers because she thought she locked the door. Daddy told them that the diner is closed. We only serve breakfast and lunch. But the two men did not turn around to leave.

Something about these men with their dead eyes and fake smiles reminded her of the type of person who enjoyed robbing old ladies of their life savings. This made Daddy very anxious because she was a old lady. There are only three things Daddy likes to do when she feels anxious. Chew bubble gum, blow Bubbles, or hold Freedom in her hand. But Daddy was out of gum, Bubbles was dead, and Freedom was under the counter. Daddy moved a little closer to Freedom.

TAX MAN1: Hello Daddy, we are tax collectors for the Big Government Tax Agency our motto is The More You Make, The More We Take. We are here to inform you that we confiscated the money in your bank account and we would like your signature on these documents that we notified you in person that we took your money.

DADDY: Why did you steal my life savings?

TAX MAN1: We think you might be structuring cash Daddy.

DADDY: What is structuring cash?

TAX MAN1: Big Government requires banks to notify the Big Government Tax Agency whenever you deposit $10,000 or more into your bank account. If you deposit $10,000 there is no problem. But if you go to the bank and deposit $5,000 and then a week later you deposit another $5,000, then you might have committed a crime called structuring cash, if you did it to avoid depositing $10,000, so the bank does not notify the Big Government Tax Agency.

DADDY: How did I break the law?

TAX MAN1: Daddy, you have been going to the bank almost every day making deposits of less than $10,000 which makes us think that you're trying to evade the bank's requirement to notify the Big Government Tax Agency by just making small deposits.

DADDY: I own a small restaurant. I go to the bank almost every day because I do not want money sitting in my restaurant when it is closed. I figure my money will be safer in the bank. I have been making daily deposits at the same bank for 38 years. I don't deposit $10,000 dollars or more because I do not make that much money in one day. I just deposit what I made that day. Now you're telling me what I am doing is illegal after I have been doing this for 38 years.

TAX MAN1: Yes, it is now illegal. It is called structuring cash, if you're making small bank deposits to avoid making one big bank deposit.

DADDY: I thought people were supposed to be considered innocent until proven guilty. You already took my life savings from me.

TAX MAN1: That's the law Daddy.

DADDY: What law allows you to steal my life savings?

TAX MAN1: It's called civil forfeiture.

DADDY: What is civil forfeiture?

TAX MAN1: Law enforcement can take your property if they think it might be associated with some kind of crime. We don't have to prove that you did anything illegal. We only have to think you might have done something illegal. The burden of proof is on you to prove to us that you did nothing illegal if you want to get your property back.

DADDY: I did nothing wrong. How can I get my money back?

TAX MAN1: Option one would be to hire a lawyer and sue Big Government.

DADDY: You have stolen my life savings from me. I have no money to hire a lawyer.

TAX MAN1: Even if you had money to hire a lawyer it would be a bad idea to sue because it is very rare for Big Government to give you back your money after we took it.

TAX MAN1: Option two is that you admit that you're guilty and we will give you some of your money back and we will keep the rest.

DADDY: That's not right. I did nothing wrong. I should get all my money back.

TAX MAN1: That's the law Daddy. Everything we do is legal.

DADDY: Just because something is legal does not mean it is not evil. Theft is when you take another person's property without their consent. You went to my bank and took my life savings without my consent. You stole all my money.

TAX MAN1: Politicians make the laws. We just enforce them. Don't blame us. We are just doing our job. If we don't do it someone else will.

DADDY: You don't have to be a foot doctor to figure out that what you're doing is wrong. You stole my life savings.

TAX MAN1: Just sign the paperwork, plead guilty, and get back some of your money.

DADDY: You're public servants. You're supposed to work for us. How does theft of my life savings help me?

TAX MAN2: Of course we work for you. The more money we take from you. The less spending you have to do.

DADDY: The truth is your criminals and I'm your victim. (Daddy reaches under the counter, grabs Freedom, and points it at the criminals.) Give me my life savings back.

TAX MEN: (Both tax collectors reach for their guns and both are shot dead.)

DADDY: Just because I have a pussy does not mean I am a pussy.
