Freedom Matters
The Truth About Taxes - Stefan Molyneux
I own myself. The money I earn with my time and effort is my money. No one has the right to take my money without my consent. If someone takes my money without my consent, it is theft. To steal the money that I earned, is to steal my time and my effort. Which is the same as stealing part of my life. To steal part of my life is slavery. Taxation without my consent is theft and it violates my right to self-ownership.
DECLARATION OF FREEDOM:
- I own myself.
- I have individual rights.
- No one has the right to violate my freedom.
SELF-OWNERSHIP:
Self-ownership is an important part of being human. You own yourself. You own your body. You own your labor. Without self-ownership, there is no freedom.
INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS:
- The right to privacy - No one has the right to violate my privacy.
- The right to self-defense - I can defend myself, my property, and my freedom.
- The right to liberty - I can do what I want, as long as I do not violate the freedom of others.
- The right to free speech - I can communicate my opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation or censorship.
NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO VIOLATE MY FREEDOM:
- No one has the right to harm me.
- No one has the right to threaten me.
- No one has the right to steal from me.
- No one has the right to violate my individual rights.
VOLUNTARYISM:
Interactions between people should be voluntary and free of force, fraud, theft, and threats.
THE PRICE OF FREEDOM:
There will always be people who try to violate our freedom. To remain free we have to be willing and able to defend our freedom.
