69 Year Old Doctor Was On Phone With United Moments Before Being Dragged Off Plane

Police Remove 69 Year Old Doctor From United Airlines Plane

69 year old doctor who had paid for a ticket gets on the plane and is in his seat. United airlines realizes that they over booked the flight. Which is something they normally do. If there are 95 seats on the plane they will sell 100 seats or more. They hope some people don't show up and that there will be enough seats for everyone and they just keep the extra money. But sometimes everyone shows up that paid for seats and then the plane is over booked and they have to throw off some paying passengers out of there seats.

This sounds like fraud to me. The airline sells you a seat on the plane but they may have also sold your same seat to someone else hoping you both don't show up and then they just pocket the extra money. This causes problems when both people show up who already paid for the same seat. The airlines call this over booking but it sounds like fraud and theft to me.

In this situation there were no extra seats and the airline wanted to throw paying passengers out of there seats to make room for United Airlines employees. They asked for volunteers to leave but no one wanted to leave. So they picked people with cheap seats to throw off the plane. They won't pick first class customers. They asked the doctor to leave and he said no. I am a doctor. I have patients to see tomorrow. The police then assaulted him slammed his face against one of the arm rests knocking out two of his teeth, breaking his nose, and giving him a concussion. They drag him off the plane after they knocked him out. Some how he ends up running back on the plane. He is in shock and bleeding from the mouth.

United Airlines management has admitted that they did not provide very good customer service to this doctor and they apologized to him for over booking the flight and beating him up. They gave him a large sum of money to not sue them or to talk to people about this incident. But the damage was already done people on the plane caught the incident on there cell phones and put it on the internet.
