The Problem With Government Healthcare
The Great Healthcare Bloat: 10 Administrators for Every 1 U.S. Doctor
Administrative costs are killing U.S. healthcare
From 1990 to 2012, the U.S. healthcare workforce grew by 75 percent. 95% of that job growth was administrative staff. Only 5% of the job growth was doctors.
This is the real reason that healthcare is so expensive. For every doctor doing the work you have ten administrators that also have to get paid. They can be government workers, insurance company workers, etc... They keep adding middle men in between the doctor and the patient which drives up prices. This is one of the reasons I prefer free trade. The doctor does the work and the patient only has to pay the doctor. Cut out the middle men and healthcare costs will drop 80% or more.
IN A FREEDOM BASED SOCIETY:
- You own yourself.
- You have individual rights.
- No one has the right to violate your freedom.
YOU OWN YOURSELF:
Self-ownership is an important part of being human. You own yourself. You own your body. You own your labor. For anyone to assert otherwise is to attempt to restrict your freedom or make you a slave. Without self-ownership, there is no freedom.
INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS:
- The right to liberty - Liberty is freedom from permission. I can do what I want, as long as I do not violate the rights of others.
- The right to self-ownership - I own myself. For anyone to assert otherwise is to attempt to restrict my freedom or make me a slave.
- The right to free speech - I can communicate my opinions and ideas without fear of government retaliation or censorship.
- The right to self-defense - I can defend myself, my property, and my individual rights.
- The right to own and carry weapons - So I have the ability to defend myself, my property, and my individual rights.
- The right to privacy - No one has the right to violate my privacy.
NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO VIOLATE MY FREEDOM:
- No one has the right to harm me.
- No one has the right to threaten me.
- No one has the right to steal from me.
- No one has the right to violate my individual rights.
DECLARATION OF FREEDOM:
- All people are born free, created equal, and have individual rights.
- Interactions between people should be voluntary and free of force, fraud, and threats.
- We never have an obligation to let anyone commit aggression against us.
- We never have an obligation to let anyone violate our freedom.
