Free Speech Matters

CABLE NEWS NETWORK (CNN) VIOLATES OUR RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH:

CNN is a 24 hour cable news network. Someone creates a Joke Trump Wrestling CNN video. CNN does not like the video and CNN tracks down the person that put the joke video on the internet and threatens to release his name and address to the public if he does not take the video down. So the person takes the video down. CNN says if he puts it back up or puts up something else on the internet that they do not like they will release his name and address to the public.

MY ANALYSIS:

What CNN has done to this person is a violation of his freedom - it is a violation of his individual right to free speech and his right to privacy.

Free speech does not mean you can only say stuff that CNN likes. Free speech means you have the right to speak your mind even if CNN does not like what your saying. You don't have free speech if your only allowed to say what CNN wants to hear.

This is really a threat on the life of this person by CNN. By threatening this person by saying we will release your name and address to the public. The threat is that some crazy person will see his name and address and go over to his house and murder him. So of course this person has no choice but to remove the video from the internet that CNN does not like.

NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO VIOLATE OUR FREEDOM:

No one has the right to rob us, harm us, threaten us, or violate our rights.

CNN SHOULD NOT VIOLATE OUR FREEDOM:

If we have the right to do something and the CNN says you can't do it, we still have the right to do it. We have no moral obligation to obey anyone that violates our rights. We have a moral obligation to honor and recognize the individual rights of every human being that lives on this planet. No matter what CNN says.

INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS:

Individual rights are rights we are all born with and no one can legally take away from us.

- The right to liberty - Liberty is freedom from permission. I can do what I want, as long as I do not violate the rights of others.
- The right to self-ownership - I own myself. For anyone to assert otherwise is to attempt to restrict my freedom or make me a slave.
- The right to free speech - I can communicate my opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation or censorship.
- The right to self-defense - I can defend myself, my property, and my individual rights.
- The right to own and carry weapons - So I have the ability to defend myself, my property, and my rights.
- The right to privacy - No one has the right to violate my privacy.

Any law that violates our rights is null and void. Anyone that violates our rights is a criminal.

FREEDOM IS NOT A BATTLE:

Freedom is not a battle that requires the conversion of others in order to win. Freedom is won when you accept the fact that you own yourself.

FREEDOM:

Because you own yourself, it is wrong for someone to initiate force against you or your property. This non-aggression principle (NAP) applies to everyone, and it is therefore wrong for someone to harm you, steal from you, threaten you, or violate your rights. Interactions between people should be voluntary and free of force, fraud, and threats.

THE FREEDOM SOLUTION:

Freedom means that we get to decide for ourselves how we want to live. We can do what we want, as long as we do not violate the rights of others.
