Make America Free Again
THE PROBLEM:
People say they want government to make things fair and equal and to protect them. Government always creates a massive power imbalance where a handful of people have power, control, and money. Everyone else is forced to obey and fund the ruling class or be fined, caged, or killed if you resist them.
Politicians are masters at using fear to pit different groups against each other until the people are begging for more laws and regulations. Those in power tell us what we should worry about, what we should fear. Their solution is more government power, more control, more laws, more wars, more regulations, more people in prison, and less freedom for you.
By dividing people into different groups like democrats and republicans, rich and poor, young and old, black and white, etc... The people can be tricked into being angry at each other. While politicians on both sides benefit. People don't realize that all politicians agree that they should take your money and control your life. Politicians use the tactic of divide and conquer to keep the people at war with each other. So we do not identify the real root of the problem. Which is government and the politicians who seek to rule and rob us.
Politicians try to make it seem like there only here to serve you. But when it comes down to it, everyone knows what will happen to you if you do not pay their taxes or obey their laws. The situation really is rulers and subjects, masters and slaves. Free people don't need rulers or masters to tell them what to do. Free people do not need to be ruled. Free people are allowed to think for themselves and make their own decisions and are responsible for their own actions, good or bad.
Big government does not come about by power hungry people talking about there evil intentions. Big government comes about by power hungry people faking good intentions and winning the loyalty of good people. Then the people let these politicians create laws, rules, and regulations that they are forced to obey and the people end up losing there freedom piece by piece under the guise that is good for them. Until every industry and activity is monitored, taxed, regulated, and restricted in the name of law. Making the people unable to provide for themselves, unable to be independent, unable to be self-suffient, unable to protect themselves, and unable to trade freely with each other however they see fit.
The primary problem is not that man is inherently evil. It is that so many people are willing to tolerate, advocate, or commit violent aggression when it is done under the name of government or law. Even most good people will comply because they imagine that they have an obligation to obey government. When oppression is legalized the proud law abiding tax payers will not only tolerate it, but will fund it, condone it, and vote for it. Government only has power, wealth, and influence because the people give it to them. Stop giving it to them.
THE REVOLUTION CONTINUES:
The Declaration of Independence condemned authoritarian power and empowered the individual. It argued that all people were created equal. That all people have individual rights. That our individual rights can not be taken away from us. That all transactions between people should be voluntary. That the main purpose of government was to help secure our individual rights. That government power came from the consent of the governed. That government could not tax us without our consent. That no one has the right to harm you, steal from you, threaten you, or violate your individual rights. When government violates our individual rights it becomes the citizens duty to take away the governments right to govern.
But the revolution is not over. What really matters is the revolution of the mind. As long as some people claim the right to rule and others claim the right to be free, the revolution will continue. Final victory comes when people give up there fate in authoritarianism and embrace the principles of true equality, non-aggression, self-ownership, and voluntaryism. That is when people will truly be ready to be free.
COGNITIVE DISSONANCE:
Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with the evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize, ignore and even deny anything that does not fit with the core belief. - Frantz Fanon
DECLARATION OF FREEDOM:
- All people are born free, created equal, and own themselves.
- We have the right to defend our life, liberty, and property.
- We never have an obligation to let anyone commit aggression against us.
- We never have an obligation to let anyone violate our freedom.
INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS - are rights all humans have and no one can legally take away from us.
- The right to free speech - I can communicate my opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation or censorship.
- The right to liberty - I can do what I want, as long as I do not violate the freedom of others.
- The right to self-defense - I can defend my life, liberty, and property.
- The right to privacy - No one has the right to violate my privacy.
NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO VIOLATE MY FREEDOM:
- No one has the right to harm me.
- No one has the right to threaten me.
- No one has the right to steal from me.
- No one has the right to violate my individual rights.
LIBERTY:
Liberty is not a battle that requires the conversion of others in order to win. Liberty is won when you accept the fact that you own yourself and no one has the right to violate your freedom. When you accept that you are liberated.
FREEDOM OR TYRANNY:
If people live their lives and do not infringe on the rights of others, we have no need for government at all. Sure people will say "but without government who would ....". That is like saying, "if we free the slaves, where would they live and what would they do for a living?" Would they be better off out from under the slave masters yoke and determine that later. If you always say "who would ...", you will never attain true freedom. Freedom is scary as it is uncertain. I'll take uncertainty and self-determination over government tyranny any day.
THE FREEDOM SOLUTION:
There are two kinds of people. People who prefer big government (statists) and people who prefer freedom. Statists want government to have a great deal of power over the economy and individual behavior. People who prefer freedom, want to have a great deal of control over their own lives.
Most people who prefer big government won't change their mind. Most people who prefer freedom won't change their mind. So instead of trying to convert the other side. We should just let each group live the way they want too.
If your a person who prefers statism then you can have all the government you want, as long as you do not violate the individual rights of others. If your a person who prefers freedom then you can have all the freedom you want, as long as you do not violate the individual rights of others.
Freedom means that people get to decide for themselves how they live their life.
THE PRICE OF FREEDOM:
Their will always be criminals who try to violate our freedom. To remain free we have to be willing and able to defend our freedom.
