WHY SUCH A WEIRD TATTOO?

When I was very young I noticed that my Jewish neighbor had a weird tattoo on his forearm that was just faded numbers and letters. I asked him why he got that tattoo. He gave me a dirty look and went into his home.

My dad was sitting in front of our house watching me and told me to come in the house. Once we were in the house my dad explained about the German Government back then and what happened to the Jews that lived in Germany. That the German Government at that time had become very powerful and felt that they could do whatever they wanted.

Then Jews were unarmed, abused, kicked out of there homes, moved into ghetto's, sent to concentration camps, branded with tattoo's, and then finally gassed or cooked in big ovens.

I then asked my dad if this is could happen to us. Could our government turn on us. He assured me that this would never happen to us because America is the land of the free. We do not need our governments permission to carry guns to protect ourselves.

He explained to me about the Declaration of Independence which states as Americans we have certain unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That unalienable rights refers to that which cannot be given away or taken away. That the right to liberty means that we could do what we want as long as we do not violate the freedom of others.

The only rights the Jews in Germany had at that time were the ones given to them by German politicians. And if someone can give you your rights then they can also take them away.

Once there guns were taken away, they were like sheep who could not protect themselves. And a nation of sheep tends to end up with a government of wolves.
